Description
Goal: To design a personal definition of inclusive education based on various examples.
Resources: Access to the Internet
How? No documents are provided with this learning activity. The student/teacher will have to search for different sources, in which definitions of inclusive education can be found. Search both within national and international sources for examples!
Assignment: Design a personal definition of Inclusive Education based on multiple examples.
Suggestion: You could collect the found examples and with a marker you can indicate key concepts in these definitions. Then assess how you select and use these key concepts in your personal definition.
Suggestion for group work: If you are doing this Boulder with a group of fellow students, it is a good idea to do this learning activity individually first, after which the different definitions are exchanged and explained to each other.
Example
In inclusive education, education is accessible to all, regardless of their disability, backgrounds and/or culture. The emphasis is on valuing the diversity and equality of students. Children are given fair opportunities to develop optimally in a diverse society, in a familiar environment, where differences are valued and no one is excluded.
